DAN BATES

Attorney Dan Bates joined Thorn Run Partners in 2010 after serving the City of Portland, Oregon as its Director of Government Relations. Navigating projects that require government relations expertise at local, state and federal levels simultaneously is a significant component of Mr. Bates’ professional portfolio.

Previous to his tenure at the City of Portland, Mr. Bates was an attorney and lobbyist with the legislative practice group at Patton Boggs LLP; Washington D.C.’s largest lobby shop. Mr. Bates received a bachelor of arts degrees in Political Science and History at Houghton College in Houghton, New York and earned his juris doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.

When he’s not in Washington, DC, Mr. Bates lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Allison and two children. REGISTRATION LINK

GENIE GOODWIN

University Club, March 23rd 2016

Born the youngest of 8 children in a small town near San Francisco, California, Genie learned early she had to fight for her place in this world.

At 17 she was swept off her feet by the man of her dreams. She graduated early to marry him. That started her adventures in traveling as well as her relationship challenges. They moved 13 times in the first 11 years together.  When the travel went international she home-schooled her children.

As she struggled to save her marriage and keep her family together she began to discover the secrets to building an enduring, passionate relationship. She started teaching others what she learned and found that the power of love can change any relationship no matter what it is going through and no matter what people believe.

Genie is a relationship expert, leadership trainer, success coach, author, and radio personality. She and her husband have been married for 35 years and have 3 children. They reside in Portland, Oregon as they continue to travel. REGISTRATION LINK
