You are invited to join us for these upcoming luncheons:
June 26th
at the University Club of Portland
with Bill Russell
Bill Russell will be our guest speaker on Wednesday June 26th at the University Club in downtown Portland. William (Bill) Russell is the Executive Director of Union Gospel Mission and the co-founder of the LifeChange addiction recovery community. Russell started his career as a lawyer in Lewiston, Idaho. After his conversion to Christianity in 1979, he became a deputy prosecutor in Idaho, focusing on juvenile crime and child protective work. In 1982 Bill quit his practice of law and joined Prison Fellowship to help develop services in the NW territory. In 1989, the leadership of Union Gospel Mission needed to transition from traditional skid row relief focused on older alcoholic men, to effective recovery for younger men and women who were drug or alcohol addicted. The Mission needed to blend spiritual transformation with work training, and deep addiction recovery. The result is LifeChange – a unique recovery community that utilizes responsibility-based recovery. Bill and his wife Tamara have raised four daughters, and make their home in Gresham.
