Leah McMahon to Speak at Westside Portland Business Lunch 9/12/12August 29, 2012
Leah McMahon was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon and attended Oregon State University where she played women’s basketball. It was in Corvallis where Leah first discovered her love of making espresso drinks.
After graduating from college, Leah played basketball internationally in Australia and New Zealand with Athletes in Action. Upon returning to Oregon, she began a career in event marketing and worked for several prominent employers such as Lucy Sportswear, the Rose Garden Arena and Reed College.
In 2006, Leah opened her award-winning Gresham coffee shop, Silk Espresso. Her first published book, At First Sip, is what Leah coins as a coffee shop read; a collection of memoir style stories that walk the reader through a host of relationships and real life experiences.
Leah is active in the Gresham community and has created her own publishing company, SIP publishing, where she will continue to produce her own work and give other un-published voices a stage to share their stories. Leah lives in Troutdale, Oregon with her husband Bubba and their dog Lucy.
This event is at the Portland Golf Club, Wednesday September 12th from 11:45-1:15. Registration is required and the lunch cost is $18.00. Click here to register.
